In Denver we've worked with Excise & License to develop a Good Neighbor Template for use between neighborhoods and any business applying for a liquor or cabaret license.
Many times neighborhoods and businesses, bars or restaurants find themselves in a position to benefit from just such a "Good Neighbor Agreement". This is nothing more than a carefully written listing of expectations for the neighborhood and for the business. We've been facilitating/mediating neighborhoods and businesses to a solution for years.
To understand the rationale behind the template, go to Liquor/Cabaret Licenses article. To download the template, go to GNA Template.
We're just beginning our Citizen-Police complaint mediation in Westminster. We've been providing community, neighbor to neighbor and court mediations for about ten years now.
At this point all of our mediations come from the court. We're hoping to begin a "community mediation" program in the next several months.
Most of our mediations in Douglas Country involve large projects and multi parties.
