Training Opportunities
Steve Charbonneau has been teaching the forty hour mediation
certificate class at the University of Colorado - Denver for the
past five years. He has also taught the Colorado State
Personnel Mediation Certificate class on numerous occasions, taught
mediation training to a select group of Littleton Adventist Hospital
& St. Anthony Central's leaders, as well as many conflict resolution
modules to various organizations and work groups.
Steve brings a unique perspective to this training, one of daily
involvement in all aspects of conflict resolutions. This
insures his training is practical, spiced with stories and role
plays relevant to the conflicts the groups he is training will be
experiencing this week.
Steve also uses two helpful visual processes to insure the tips and
tools are easier to remember.
-
The Teeter-Totter, a process all conflicts
progress through, if they are to be resolved successfully.

The Pinch Process, a process for managing
expectations, commitment to my understanding of the
expectations, what a productive relationship functions as and
finally; "What will I do when my expectations aren't met -
I'm pinched!

you'd like to know more about how we get into pinches and out
again - productively!
Steve will customize the training for each group,
facility or conflict resolution challenge.
Citizen - Police Mediation Training
We're one of the few, or maybe only place in the
nation that offers a proven training for mediators doing citizen -
police mediations. This is a specialized training, based upon
our experience and the officers we've worked with. Our
training typically takes one full day, or two half days to complete.
We then recommend co-mediation or mentoring to implement the skills
and insure quality mediations.
Mediator Training
We believe any mediator must go though a
mentoring/internship process to fully develop their style and be
successful. No matter what skills you bring, doing a real
mediation is different than all the training you may have received.
We bring a newbie into our program, match them up with numerous
senior mediators and push them to refine their skill-set and become
truly competent.
Many times you don't get a second bite of the
apple and making sure you provide an excellent mediation experience
is absolutely necessary.
